Very busy weekend.  Kids parties, long drives, train rides.  Hardly even did any videos.  Here’s one; my take on the “Black Friday” sales:

  1. I read black Friday. I had images of medieval slaughter in my head. I remember he Cabbage Patch Kid craze that hit North America. I being the ripe age of 11 wanted one such doll. I warned my mom about what she would be up against when she went to the retail store the next day while I was in school. She recanted a tale of mothers waiting in line not talking to eachother while they waited for the store to open. The doors opened at 8:30 and at 8:35 all the 300 cabbage patch kids available that day, were mercilessly grabbed, pawned and stolen from eachother wile rushing towards the check-out. Women buying dolls for their girsl that are in short supply has got to be up- there with the recent PS3 shortage.

Mom and I decided never to plan another wait in line event ever. I am glad i was too old for the next craze of Tickle Me Elmo dolls. One of my friends though was working at walmart during that craze and his story in Fredericton New Brunswick made the David Letterman show. He had been pulled from the ladder while standing up on the sixth or seventh step handing out the evil elmos, and knocked to the ground while people gingerly stepped on, over and climbed up for themselves.

  2. Hahahaha, oh wait, I shouldn’t laugh at the guy getting pulled from the ladder, he probably got hurt. But it’s funny.
