Taste is a subjective thing. This is my blog so the rating are going to be according to my taste. I use the same fairly simple rating system whether I’m evaluating a cocktail I’ve purchased at a bar or one I’ve made myself. Rather than going into any micro details with the rating, I score cocktails out of 10 based on the simple question: would I get this cocktail again?
Less than 7/10 = This was a mistake. For whatever reason, I actively dislike this cocktail.
7/10 – This is a perfectly acceptable cocktail. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it but it didn’t grab me so I’m unlikely to get/make it again
8/10 – A good cocktail. I would definitely get/make this again.
9/10 – This cocktail was so good I would like another one of these right now, thank you.
There are no 10/10 cocktails. Nothing is perfect. Although I have been known to rate cocktails as higher than 9/10 when they really blow me away.
